Finally we got one. Maybe now we can begin to take action legal and otherwise against verbal and emotional child abuse.

Family Scientists estimate that emotional abuse of children is by far the most prevalent type of abuse. However in my own experience as well as the experience of other social service workers this is the type of abuse that is least likely to be reported, investigated, or litigated. Also this type of abuse has effects just as lasting as those of sexual and physical abuse. As concerned parents, citizens, teachers, and family workers, we need to address this abuse for those who cannot do it themselves. To steal a phrase..."It takes a village to raise a child..."
